These moments are very hard for us as we are all aging. It is amazing to know how much Dave had accomplished as a professional, as a father and husband, and as a man. Our sorrow and our sympathy extend to his family, he was indeed a good man worthy of our love and admiration. I knew Dave very well in his youth as we played baseball together back behind Highfield Elementary. I recall we were having a catch one day, just the two of us under those tall trees. Back and forth we would burn it in to each other. One I threw back must have been 6 feet over his head, a wild pitch. No way Dave could have caught that ball. Instead, he threw his glove into the air. The ball amazingly went into the glove and was caught in the pocket and then the glove and ball returned to the earth with the ball remaining in the glove. I’m not sure about the call but we both laughed for the longest time. There are some small things we remember about each other. They last, stand out, and become part of our endearing memory and respect and love we hold for that person that endures time. We are all here for but an instant in time, indeed life is short. However, who we touch and what we accomplish will be remembered by others, as we do not live alone we are part of something. I believe Dave did a wonderful job in this regard. We love and will always remember Dave. Nice catch. Den
